Welcome to the whole-body philosophy, where we take a whole-person approach to health. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we consider how different systems of the body work together, and how physical health, mental wellbeing, and lifestyle factors can all influence one another. This approach is grounded in current medical understanding of the body as an interconnected system, and aims to support more complete and lasting outcomes for our patients.
The mind and body connection is evidenced by a growing body of research showing meaningful links between brain function and physical health. Conditions affecting the gut, immune system, hormones, and pain pathways, for example, have all been associated in the literature with the nervous system and mental state. With this in mind, our assessments often look beyond the presenting complaint to consider factors such as stress, sleep quality, and emotional wellbeing, which may be contributing to or influenced by a patient's physical symptoms. In addition, we recognise that a person’s broader environment, from lifestyle and environmental factors to work stress and relationship demands also contribute in a multifactoral way.
Where relevant, our care may include discussion of these areas alongside standard clinical assessment and treatment, with the goal of supporting your overall health rather than addressing a single issue in isolation.
